Introduction

Thank you for visiting my website.

I am Shingo Ito, an international tutor based in Osaka, Japan, offering lessons in both English and Japanese.

I teach students from a variety of backgrounds, including those attending international schools, Japanese schools, and those who do not attend school regularly.

Especially, I am doing this job because I want to help students who have these concerns:

  • Difficulty keeping up with the classes at school

  • School refusal and tendency to become a recluse

  • Have a developmental disability and struggle to study

  • No confidence in oneself

  • Can't find a tutor to help me with the study at an international school

Personality      Laughs a lot, passionate, good at

                     giving compliments, competitive,

                     perfectionist, ESFP

I'm rather a perfectionist, so I pursue things

thoroughly, such as how to explain things to

students in an easy-to-understand way, how

to praise or scold them, what kind of questions

                                to make, etc.

Favorite food   Ramen, Sushi and Sashimi

Club activity     Basketball Club (Junior and Senior

                     High School)

Hobbies          Fishing, spearfishing, voice training,

                     tennis, the game of Go

I love fishing more than anything else. Growing

up watching "Ohgon Densetsu", I go spear-

fishing in the summer. Before fishing, I was

hooked on the game of Go, and I play at

                                the 5-dan level.

Autobiography

1987 Born in Higashi Osaka City, Osaka

2000 Enrolled in Doshisha International Junior

           High School

After studying hard in 6th grade, my deviation score

(Hensachi) rose from the mid-30s to the late 60s.

2003 Enrolled in KIU Academy

This is where the foundation of my values was formed.

My English level had improved greatly from not being

able speak at all to the level I could go straight to a

                      university in US.

2006 Enrolled in Florida Institute of Technology,

           Department of Marine and Environmental

           Systems

I had a very enjoyable time. However, I had trouble

with submitting reports due to my ADHD and

perfectionism (poor prioritization, taking tasks too

seriously, tending to put them off, etc.), which were

not noticeable when I was in high school. I started

                      going to the counseling center.

2012 Enrolled in Kyoto University Graduate School

           of Global Environmental Studies

I chose this grad school because I wanted to work in

developing countries, and was dreaming to be active

on the global stage in the future.

2014 Started working as an intern at Nippon Poly-

           Glu Co. Ltd.

I thought I had joined the company of my dreams.

However, when I went on a business trip to Bangla-

desh, I was shocked to realize that supporting

developing countries was not what I really wanted

                      to do...

(Later, through counseling, I realized that I had

assumed that what my parents expected of me was

                       what I wanted to do.)

2015 Becoming a NEET, a cram school teacher,

           a university technical assistant.

           Lived aimlessly for 4 years

I lost track of what I wanted to do and continued to

feel depressed. During this time, I came across the

blog "The Recommendation for Right Negativity

(Tadashii Negative no Susume)" by Takashi Sugita,

                       a psychotherapist in Tokyo.)

2017 Had a mental therapy session with

           Takashi Sugita

From this point on, my mental state gradually re-

covered and I was able to face my own feelings.

2019 Started working as a math and science

teacher at my alma mater, KIU Academy

Following my desire to become a teacher, I began

my career as a teacher at my alma mater, where I

taught math and science to middle and high school

students. I became convinced that teaching was

                      my calling.

2021 Started working as a private tutor for my

           side business

Desiring to start my own business, I started working

as a private tutor for my second job

2022 Started working as a technical assistant at

Osaka Univ. and as a private tutor

2024 Started working as a professional private tutor

I gained confidence that I could make private tutor as

my main job and made a new start
